Early Summer Heatwave Hits Eastern, Western Japan

(MENAFN) Eastern and Western Japan are currently in the grip of an intense heatwave, with temperatures in some regions predicted to exceed 35 degrees Celsius. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a strong warning, urging the public to take immediate precautions against heatstroke. This early-season heat poses a particular risk as bodies are not yet acclimated to such high summer temperatures.

By Tuesday morning, numerous locations across the affected areas had already reported temperatures above 30 degrees. Notably, central Tokyo recorded 30.0 degrees Celsius, marking its first midsummer day of the year. Forecasts indicate that afternoon highs will reach a scorching 35 degrees in Chichibu, with many other cities also anticipating extreme heat.

Conversely, Northern Japan and the Amami region of Kagoshima are experiencing volatile weather conditions. Warnings have been issued for potential thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, and sudden heavy rainfall, indicating a sharp contrast in weather patterns across the archipelago.
